Kantor has been affiliated with this firm since 1990, and has practiced law in Vermont continuously since 1983. He graduated from Vermont Law School (J.D.) in 1982, where he served as Articles Editor for Vermont Law Review. Prior to law school he attended Hamilton College (B.A. 1978). Steve served as Assistant Attorney General, State of Vermont, from 1984-1988. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Vermont, and has appeared as trial counsel in the U.S. District Courts for the District of New Hampshire and the District of Connecticut. He has represented local, national and international clients in a wide range of commercial litigation. Steve is active in the representation of both creditors and debtors under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. His litigation experience includes claims in the areas of contracts, personal injury, construction, commercial eviction, securities fraud, commercial leases, real estate and insurance coverage litigation. He also represents clients in matters involving federal criminal defense, immigration and mental health law. Steve is a member of the Chittenden County and Vermont Bar Associations, and the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association. He provides pro bono legal services through the Vermont Volunteer Lawyers Association. In addition to the practice of law, Steve is an avid telemark skier, gardener, windsurfer and fisherman.
